Welcome to Eagle Haven!
We are an educational nonprofit based in Northern Virginia offering nature education to students and their families.

In 2023, Eagle Haven made an inaugural presentation of its mission and offerings at an elementary school PTA meeting.
Multiple parents, teachers, and administrators followed up with enthusiastic support, and expressed hunger for opportunities to get their children away from their screens and exposed more frequently to free and/or inexpensive excursions for fun and experiential learning.
This is Eagle Haven’s sweet spot!
On a nature walk along the Dyke Marsh Trail on the west side of the Potomac River, one fourth grade girl was mesmerized by her first sighting of “real live ducks” swimming in a natural environment.
Previously she had only seen such birds in books, photographs, or on screen, and she pronounced the live birds “much, much more exciting!”.
Eagle Haven volunteers are delighted when its offerings receive such elated reactions to the wonders of nature.

An excursion in Fort Hunt Park introduced elementary school aged students to a sampling of its native trees, animals and birds.
Students discovered a field full of ladybugs and were charmed by their “friendliness”…and by learning about their beneficial aspects for gardeners and farmers, facts that contribute to their reputation as omens of good luck!
Collaborations & Partnerships
Eagle Haven works with teachers (Public, Private, Home Schoolers), school administrators, faith leaders, coaches, scouting leaders, and park administration to fulfill our mission and support our youth in natural spaces.
